City of Alabaster | Police Department Headquarters

In November 2023, the City of Alabaster Police Department opened the doors of their new headquarters. They had previously operated from the same building for the past seventy years. The new 34,000-square-foot facility is the workplace for nearly 90 officers and staff. It houses several agencies, training classes, interview rooms, evidence storage, communication facilities, and temporary inmate housing.

Business Interiors was awarded the project in early 2020, just before the COVID shutdown. The ground ceremony took place in late August 2020, and construction started in January 2021. Despite COVID-related project delays, the BI team worked steadfastly and patiently with members of the department to see the project through for over three years.

The project’s scope included Private Offices, Conference Rooms, Workstations, the Break Room, Lobby, Training Rooms, and the Dispatch Area. Additionally, the Business Interiors’ team sourced a media backdrop with the police department’s seal, United States flags, Alabama State flags, and faux plants and planters.

Northrop Grumman Corporation | Redstone Gateway

In April, Northrop Grumman Corporation welcomed employees into their new two-building campus at Redstone Gateway, a mixed-use office and technology park in Huntsville, Alabama located next to Redstone Arsenal. The 260,000 sq ft campus is home to over 1,000 Northrop Grumman employees, and includes office space, program management and engineering design space, an integration laboratory, a data center, and a 350-person auditorium.

The Business Interiors Construction and Architectural Services team worked with Robins & Morton, the general contractor for the project on behalf of Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT), and provided a full Falkbuilt solution for the project’s extensive glass fronts. Powers Brown Architecture was the architect for the project.
