Dentons Sirote Law Firm

Business Interiors partnered with Dentons Sirote and KPS Group to support the renovation of the firm’s Birmingham office. Business Interiors previously furnished the office when the firm first moved into the space more than two decades ago, and the renovation provided an opportunity to refresh key areas of the workplace for the next chapter of the firm.

The project followed the firm’s transition from Sirote & Permutt to Dentons Sirote, connecting the Birmingham practice to the global Dentons network. The renovation focused on shared and client-facing areas throughout the office, including conference rooms, reception and lounge spaces, café and bar areas, a library lounge, and a multipurpose intern workspace designed to support collaboration and recruiting.

Along with updating these spaces, the project helped reinforce the firm’s refreshed identity, introducing a more contemporary environment while maintaining the professionalism expected of a law office.

Working closely with the design team, Business Interiors helped implement furniture selections that support both the functionality of the renovated spaces and the firm’s evolving workplace experience.

Sheraton Hotel Presidential Suites | Downtown Birmingham

As part of the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel’s renovation, four Presidential Suites were reimagined to provide an elevated hospitality experience for VIP guests, performers, and executive travelers visiting the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex.

Owned by the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center Authority and designed by KPS Group, the project builds on the hotel’s renovated lobby while extending the refreshed design language into its most exclusive guest accommodations.

Business Interiors partnered with the project team to furnish the suites and provide the accessories that complete each space, helping bring the design vision to life through carefully coordinated furnishings and finishing details.

Suites designed for comfort and flexibility

The renovation includes four Presidential Suites — two large suites and two smaller configurations. Each suite is designed to function as a private residence within the hotel, offering comfort, privacy, and flexibility for extended stays or small gatherings.

Each suite includes:

  • A primary bedroom with an adjoining bathroom
  • A secondary guest bedroom suite
  • Three bathrooms in total
  • A dining area
  • A dedicated study/workspace
  • A spacious living room for hosting or relaxing

The layouts required furnishings that support a variety of uses, from quiet work sessions to informal meetings and private entertaining.

Thoughtful details throughout

Across the suites, layered textures, rich tones, and fluted furniture details create visual depth while reinforcing a cohesive design story. Carefully selected textiles, artwork, and accessories complete the spaces and help establish a refined, residential character.

Business Interiors worked closely with the design and construction teams to ensure each element—from furnishings to finishing accessories—aligned with the design intent while meeting the performance expectations of a hospitality environment.

Jacksonville State University | Dining Hall

In August 2024, Jacksonville State University opened its new Dining Hall, replacing the 62-year-old Jack Hopper Dining Hall that closed in July 2024. The new facility serves as a central gathering space for campus life. It offers expanded seating, natural light, and modern food stations that support a wide range of dining preferences.

Business Interiors partnered closely with Williams Blackstock Architects and Kemp Management Solutions to support the university’s vision. From early in the design process, BI supplied furniture selections that reinforced the architectural renderings and aligned with the aesthetic direction presented by the design team.

Our team proposed options across price points to stay within budget while preserving the intended style. We carefully selected finishes to blend with the building’s materials and interior palette. BI shared all finish selections with the project team to confirm alignment with the desired aesthetic.

The result is a modern dining environment that supports daily function and meaningful connection. Students, faculty, and visitors now have a welcoming space to gather, recharge, and engage throughout the day. Through clear collaboration and coordination, BI delivered furniture solutions that complement the architecture and contribute to a dynamic new chapter in campus life.

Children’s of Alabama | Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit

Children’s of Alabama (COA) faced a critical public health challenge: the escalating need for inpatient mental health care for adolescents. The existing unit was consistently at capacity, so many young patients faced long wait times in the Emergency Department. To address this, COA embarked on a crucial renovation, transforming a former outpatient clinic into an 11-bed Behavioral Health (BH) Unit. This project required specialized COA Behavioral Health Furniture.

BI joined the project to provide furniture that served two non-negotiable goals: supporting a calm, healing environment and ensuring the safety of patients and staff was the absolute top priority. We proudly collaborated with Poole Company (Architects and Engineers) and the COA Facilities and Design team.

The unit’s scope required specialized, high-security furniture across the 11 Patient Rooms, a Family/Consult Room, a Dining/Multipurpose Room, a Dayspace Activity Room, and Nurse/Provider Offices.

Our solution utilized specialized, high-security furniture. We sourced heavily-weighted, anti-ligature seating and tables. These provided the necessary safety assurance while allowing patients access to engaging and calming communal spaces. This included specialized seating designed specifically for behavioral health settings, along with secure game tables.

The unit received professional lounge seating, guest chairs, and therapeutic patient room furniture (beds, desks, chairs). We selected these pieces to provide comfort while adhering to stringent safety guidelines. We also ensured clinical staff (Nurse Stations and Provider Offices) had ergonomic task seating for their long shifts.

This renovation and furniture implementation allowed COA to operationalize the new 11-bed BH unit, which successfully opened in January 2025. By furnishing the facility with products that meet the highest standards of safety, Business Interiors helped create a safe, supportive setting for adolescent focused mental health care, ultimately reducing patient wait times across the state.
